CT State Powerboat Certification Required

This 8.5 hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who has taken a classroom/online boating course but needs experience to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boat handling skills. Students will be expected to study the course materials at home to challenge and pass a written exam covering equipment requirements, rules of the road, aids to navigation, preparation, environment regulations, safety and emergencies.

  • Leaving & returning to a slip

  • Close-quarters maneuvers

  • Anchoring

  • Steering a range

  • Proceeding to a destination

  • Person in water rescue

  • Safety, prep & weather

  • Maneuvering concepts

  • Challenge test-out

CT State Powerboat Certification

We are offering the State of Connecticut NASBLA Certification classroom course which fulfills the prerequisite for our “hands on” courses listed above and is the state requirement for Powerboat/Jet Ski operation.

The class will run for 3 consecutive evenings from 5:00pm-7:45pm
